We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was spacious with a nice view. The food in the pub was just right and again, beautiful view. The breakfast was fabulous!! Perfect stopover from Bergen to the rest of our fjord driving tour.

Da vi ankom fikk vi først vite at det hadde oppstått utfordringer i bookingsystemet og at vi ikke hadde fått det rommet vi ønsket oss. Hotel Sandven omorganiserte da rask slik at vi fikk et meget bra rom i den historiske delen. De håndterte vår frustrasjon med profesjonalitet og svært god service. Frokosten er svært sunn og meget god og hotellets beliggenheten er helt helt fantastisk. Vi har padlet og gått fjellturer annen hver dag. Vi har endt dagene med å hvile slitne kropper i kveldsola ved vannkanten på hotellet med god utsikt, mat og drikke.

Our 2nd Thon hotel of this trip and another successful stay.|The hotel is a classic historic building with the addition of a modern wing. We'd book a package for a superior room with balcony & fjord view. Absolutely gorgeous. Cosy room decorated in period style with a smart modern shower room. The best bit was the spacious, private, large wooden balcony complete with 2 comfy wicker chairs. Under cover, so perfect for admiring the view even in the rain.|Very quiet at night away from the road but maybe it could be less so in nicer weather when busy. |Excellent breakfast buffet with every conceivable food you could imagine. The historic wooden dining room is magnificent and a great place to eat.|There is a restaurant on site but we didn't dine in.|Beware, there is no lift in the old part of the building so be prepared to lug your cases upstairs.|Would happily stay again.

The location is magical! The staff extremely attentive. The construction prevented the ability to take in the views and having a worker right outside the window was awkward. ||The breakfast was very good. We would have enjoyed more vegan options. ||This hotel was far and above the others. We did the Rib Boat Tour and used the kayaks offered by the hotel. I was amazed that there we no flying bugs in Norway. We were outside the majority of the time. ||

The location of the hotel is fantastic along the fjord. The old building has great atmosphere. Close to everything in town. The breakfast is very extensive although some of the ‘hot food’ was not very warm. |Our room in the modern annex was fine but it faced a very busy street. Lots of trucks and other traffic passed. We had to use ear plugs to sleep. Very disappointing.|Ask for a quiet room not facing that street.

Dette var vår andre tur til dette hotellet denne sommeren, og Hotellet leverte også denne gangen, vi hadde bestilt Suite, som hadde eget soverom, god plass med spisestuemøbler og sofa og kjøkkenkrok med skikkelig kjøleskap, en fantastisk utsikt over fjorden, med balkong over hele leiligheten, vi var 3 voksne og hadde god plass, forrige opphold her som var i juni , vi hadde da et standard dobbeltrom, da vi den gangen var 2 voksne, et rom som også var veldig romslig også med sittegruppe og et tomt minibar skap som kjøleskap, noe som også fungerte fint, frokost er som alltid bra på Thon, noe som også stemmer på dette hotellet (min mening), gratis parkering på baksiden av hotellet, det er også parkering ca. 150m fra hotellet hvis det skulle være fullt på den nærmeste, vi kommer garantert tilbake, og gleder oss til det.

The hotel is in a wonderful location with fabulous views of the fjord and mountains (when the clouds lift!). Good service, lovely old building (particularly the dining room), good breakfast. Within range of both Bergen and other western fjord sights. We had a fantastic break.

אכזבה. בשביל המחיר הזה ציפיתי ליותר. המלון מסועב, אסופת בינינים לא קדורים,מוזר בסיגנון. החדר היה קטן מאוד.אין מקום לשתי מזוודות. התמונות ששווקו באתר, מטעות!! מסתבר שהספא ,סאונה וגקוזי לא כלולים במחיר!!!! ובנוסף זה לא באמת מתחם ספא אטרקטיבי.יושב במרתף של המלון בין מסדרונות מוזרים. ארוחת הבוקר נחמדה מאוד. מחיר ארוחת הערב יקרה והמבחר מאוד מצומצם.ממליצה לצאת לעיר לחפש ארוחה בחוץ.
בקיצר....עדיף להגיע לאוסלו ולא להגיע למלון הזה.
